Developer Biography
Mr. Capps has been building custom and speculative homes in the Lawrence/Topeka area since he established KC Builders Inc. more than 20 years ago. He has acquired extensive experience in all fields of light construction and land development. To date, he has built more than 300 homes and commercial projects ranging in value from $90,000 to $1 million. As president of Terravest Construction in the early 1990s, Mr. Capps built thirty to sixty homes per year in Lawrence, making him the city¹s second largest builder.
Mr. Capps has been involved in such premier subdivisions as Oakwood Estates in south Lawrence and Alvamar in west Lawrence. Recently, Mr. Capps purchased the once-dormant Southboro development in southeast Topeka. His enthusiasm for building high-quality, affordable housing sparked the completion and sale of 44 homes in the last three years.
Mr. Capps¹ success is built upon his broad experience in property and construction management, commercial and residential building, and his expertise in all phases of construction. His excellent people skills and insistence upon high-quality results help him to work effectively with city planning officials, neighbors and members of the real estate community. His dedication to his customer¹s needs has earned Mr. Capps a fine reputation as an excellent builder.
